This precious child sleeping so pecefully reminds me of the grace and peace we need from God. Not one of us deserves God’s grace, yet He freely lavishes it on us. We were in a dungeon, held shackled to the wall by sin, under the penalty of death. God sent His precious Son to smash open the prison doors, to break the chains, to proclaim liberty to us — the captives. I am so thankful He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. God bids us walk out of the prison and into newness of life. He invites us to walk in the light of His love. How incredible. So amazing.
I love this story of a man who was a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp. One day he read Psalm 91. It says, "He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." He prayed, "Father in Heaven, I see all these men dying around me, one after the other. Will I also have to die here? I am still young and I very much want to work in Your kingdom here on Earth."God spoke to his heart, “Rely on what you have just read and go home!” He got up and walked toward the gate.
A guard called, "Prisoner, where are you going?" He replied, "I am under the protection of the Most High.” The guard came to attention and let him pass. Adolf Hitler was known as 'the Most High." A group of guards stood near the gate. They asked where he was going. He replied, "I am under the protection of The Most High!" The guards stood at attention as he walked out the gate. The English officer made his way through the German countryside and eventually reached England. He was the ONLY ONE to come out of that prison alive. Adapted from the book Psalm 91 by Peggy Joyce Ruth.
God is our protector. If we belong to Him, we dwell in the secret place of the Most High, under the shadow of the Almighty. We have nothing to fear. He will lead us and guide us, like a child is protected by their father. God has loved you since before you were born. Choose to rest in His love and mercy, precious one. Will you allow His peace to fill your heart and mind? Will you trust Him? "May the peace of God that passes all understanding guard your heart and mind." Philippians 4:7 Whatever happens to us on Earth can never compare with the joy of being with God forever. The present sufferings of this life are not worthy to be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in us. You are greatly loved. More than you can ever imagine. "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33 I pray God’s love holds you and fills your days with His beauty, peace, and love. Blessings, Beloved of God.
