Have you ever felt like your world was suddenly falling apart? Like the things you believed to be true were actually illusions? In those moments, the chaos of fear tries to invade every corner of your life. I know this feeling well. Just a few heartbeats ago, I received the most devastating news of my life. I had never felt so alone, so hurt, or so betrayed. In the immediate aftermath, I truly thought my heart was going to break. I will spare you the details of the situation, but I will share what I’ve learned in the wreckage: God does not want us to live in fear.
The Valley and the Shadow
When we abide in Jesus, fear—or any other attack from hell—loses its power to control us. While I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone, God has given me a new well of compassion for those walking through similar fires.
Even when the path is dark, we have this promise:
"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil..." — Psalm 23:4
You Are Not Alone
I am praising God today because He has surrounded me with His grace, His peace, and His love. He is holding me. And I promise you, He will hold you too—even through the darkest storms.
The enemy of my soul intended for this situation to destroy me, but God is faithful. He will not allow me to be broken, and He will not allow the enemy to break you either. We have nothing to fear as long as our trust is rooted in Him.
He knows your name: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine." (Isaiah 43:1)
He is your fortress: "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1)\
Let Go of the Controls
One of the hardest parts of a crisis is feeling like you've lost control. But here is the truth: You aren’t required to be in charge. You don't have to see the future or map out every detail.
If I can experience God’s peace in the midst of this situation, I know you can too. Trust Him to lead you. Let Him take the wheel.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." — Isaiah 41:10
Looking Ahead
I’m not sure what my future looks like yet, but I am certain of who is leading the way. The floods are high, but they will not overflow me—and they won't overflow you, either.
Don't look at the depth of the water; look at the One who walks on it. He won't let you drown. He loves you too much to let go.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)
Blessings, Beloved of God.
