The God of the Universe loves us. So amazing. We don't deserve this love. There is nothing we can do to earn it. If we repent of our sins, accept His free offer of forgiveness, and call on the Name of the Lord Jesus, we are saved from eternal wrath. We are adopted into His eternal, royal family. He then allows us to call Him Abba (Daddy in Aramaic). So incredible.
I heard a small child, who misplaced their father on a cobblestone street in Jerusalem, crying for their Abba. It was heartbreaking. Thankfully, Abba appeared and scooped the relieved child into his arms. That's how I believe God wants us to cry for Him - with intense longing. "And I will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:18)
I have not seen my Earthly father since I was five. Because of that, this Scripture is precious to me. "When my mother and father forsake me, then the LORD will take me up." (Psalm 27:10) God is my Abba. He has always been there for me. He has held me in my darkest moments. I love Him now and forever.
Abba promises to never leave or forsake those who love Him. He said He is with us always, even to the end of the world. (Matthew 28:20) We can trust His Word. He only speaks truth. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6)
Jesus said, "In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2) One day, when all is ready, Jesus will come for His bride."But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father." (Mark 13:32) Only our Father, our Abba, knows the details of when we get to go HOME to be with our forever family - to be with millions who loved and obeyed Him throughout history.
Happy Father's Day, dear Abba! May Your Name be loved, honored and glorified throughout the Earth. May Your eternal Kingdom come and Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. May You rejoice in the praises of Your people.
One beautiful day, we will see our Abba, and it will be more glorious than we could ever imagine. "Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." (John 13:43) I pray one day, in a few heartbeats, you and I will shine forth as the sun in Abba's Kingdom. Blessings, Beloved of God.
